Have the carers undergone a Diclosure and Barring (DBS) check?

Our company is a recognised umbrella organisation with the DBS. This means that as well as completing thorough police checks on our own staff, other home care agencies come to us to have their staff checked. We also check a list of carers who are not suitable to work with older people.

How will my care be managed?

A designated Care Co-ordinator will be responsible for the allocation and ongoing supervision of the carers that you receive. We will complete a care plan and risk assessment with you in your home, which you will be asked to sign. Team Leaders work in all areas to complete monitoring visits.

How are visits monitored?

We operate a telemonitoring system whereby the carer registers his/ her arrival with you using a key code by telephone. Failure to do so will alert the office, who will contact you or the carer to verify the call. This gives both our clients and their family peace of mind.

How much does it cost?

The cost will depend on the level of care that we have been asked to provide, and you will receive an individual assessment. It is possible that social services may be able to contribute to the cost of your care. We have lots of experience working with multi-source funding and will try to accommodate most circumstances, whether you are receiving direct payments, or privately funding your care or if Social Services are assisting you. A full sitting service is charged at a rate negotiable to meet the your care needs. Please call the office to discuss how funding operates on 01388 458991 or e-mail info@premiercommunitycare.co.uk

What can the carer do for me?

The following is a list of things we can do for clients.

Personal Care: from helping you up in the morning to going to bed, we can support you with all aspects of personal care

Household tasks: housework, laundry, meal preparation, shopping, gardening.

Errands: collecting pensions, benefits, prescriptions

Administration: form filling, letter writing, phone calls on your behalf

Social: trips out, visiting friends, excursions, companionship

The list is not exhaustive. If you would like guidance to find out if we can accommodate your needs, please call the office on 01388 458991 or e-mail info@premiercommunitycare.co.uk You can also use our enquiry form.

How long is a visit?

Visits range from 15 minutes to a full sitting service depending upon your needs. They can be at a number of different times of the day, depending on your preferences.

Who are your carers?

Our care workforce is representative of the diverse needs of clients and are local to the area. We have a broad age range of staff and we have both female and male carers. We make every effort to maintain continuity of care for each service user providing the service is working well.

How are staff trained?

All carers attend our intensive in-house Induction Training programme. Time is also then spent shadowing an experienced carer in a clients home.
